Black Woman HBCU Graduate Launches Coloring Pencils that Appeal to BIPOC

Black entrepreneurs like Latoya Nicole have beaten all odds to fill gaps where African Americans remain underrepresented in product lines.

Founder and CEO of Entrepreneur of Color Too, Nicole designed a model that involves coloring pencils and coloring books, which would intrigue BIPOC women.

According to BlackNews.com, Nicole’s latest mission involves introducing colored pencils that match different skin tones.

The entrepreneur also requested the “Shades of Brown” colored pencils to be part of the Entrepreneurs Color Too line. Nicole’s business website exclusively sells packs of 12 limited edition colored pencils.

“We are happy to finally introduce the new colored pencils much-sought for by our clients. We are proud to extend our body of work by offering skin-tone colors that appeal to colored families. We believe in representation; therefore, it essential for our clients to see themselves in arts, crafts, and supplies,” said Nicole.

A previous feature in MadameNoire by the entrepreneur highlights how women of color are underrepresented, deciding to start her company in 2018.

Inspirational coloring books and pencils such as a Christmas coloring book, coloring books for mothers and daughters, and HBCU – inspired coloring books can be found on her website.

“I want the young girls and women that look up to them to feel entitled. I want them to know that they are represented, celebrated, and included, celebrated because representation matters,” read her statement in MadmaNoire.

BlackNews further stated that before launching the new line of skin-toned colored pencils, Nicole sold more than 25,000 coloring books. All of them are geared towards women of color.

According to the description on Entrepreneurs Too’s website, shades of brown include colors such as Ebony, Toya, Keisha, and Diamond. To find the package of pre-sharpened colored pencils, visit the link.
