Is your summer lacking a bit of luster? Look no further? I have a tantalizing and pocket-friendly solution for you as you quarantine thoughtfully.


To get a taste of the far-reaching destination without visiting, find the story behind Mexico's Paloma and Sangria. Get a cocktail shaker and make these iconic cocktails from around the world that will make you feel like a globetrotter cost less and make all your friends have the time of their life.


1. Pina Colada – San Juan, Puerto Rico



The Pina Colada has existed since 1954. Its creation originates from bartender Ramon "Monchito" Marrero, who brought into being the coconut cream-based cocktail and rum San Juan, Puerto Rico, at the Caribe Hilton.


Ingredients

· 1 oz Coconut cream

· 1 oz white rum

· 3 oz pineapple juice


Procedure

Mix coconut cream, white rum, and pineapple juice with crushed ice until smooth. Garnish with a pineapple slice or maraschino cherry.


2. Paloma – Mexico



Margaritas always stand out as the most outstanding Mexican cocktails. However, people across the country drink Paloma. Although tracing the drink's origin hasn't borne any fruit, one thing stands out, it's delectable.


Ingredients (Makes one cocktail)

· ½ agave nectar

· 1 ounce grapefruit

· ½ ounce tequila reposado

· ½ ounce lime juice

· 1 splash soda water

· 1 tablespoon kosher salt

· Lime wedge to garnish


Procedure

Combine agave nectar, grapefruit, tequila reposado, lime juice, kosher salt in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake well. Pour into a glass, add soda water and garnish with a lime wedge.


3. Mojito – Cuba

Perhaps one of the most iconic Cuban cocktails, it's believed Sir Francis Drake, English naval captain, created the mojito.

Currently, it's rumored to be author Ernest Hemingway's favorite drink


Ingredients (1 cocktail)

· ½ lime cut into 4 wedges

· 10 fresh mint leaves

· ½ cup club soda

· 1 ½ fluid ounces white rum

· 1 cup ice cubes

· 2 tablespoons white sugar to taste


Procedure

Place 1 lime wedge, and mint leaves in a strong glass. Use a muddle to crush the lime and mint to release lime juice and mint oils. Add sugar and 2 lime wedges, then use a muddle to crush and release more lime juice. Fill the glass with ice cubes to the top, pour rum over ice, add carbonated water. Garnish with lime.


4. Sangria



Sangria is deeply rooted in Spain's history. When there was a lack of water during the middle ages, people turned to brandy, red wine, and fermented mix of fruit to remain hydrated.

Later, the drink became famous in America during the New York World's Fair in 1964


Ingredients

· 1 cup blackberries

· 1 apple

· 1 orange

· 1 lime

· 2 oz brandy

· 16 cinnamon sticks

· 750 ml red wine

· 8 oz raspberry


Procedure

Mix the raspberry, red wine, cinnamon sticks, brandy, lime, orange, apple, and blackberries. in a large pitcher
