Let us not beat around the bush. 2020 has been one hell of a year.
This is especially true for businesses across the globe, but in true human nature, we have managed to overcome many of the challenges we faced at the helm of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the challenges the pandemic posed in the past 8 months, we have started rebuilding our lives.
So, now that we are in the fourth quarter of the year and things are slowly drawing to a close (and not a minute too soon, I would say), I decided it would be good to look at ways to end off this Q4 with a bang.
Are you ready?
Some Tips From Trish Wright - The Wright Life Founder
1. Re-evaluate
If you're like me, then you have your five-year goals planned out. There is nothing wrong with going back and looking at your goals and evaluating if those same goals apply or if you need to make some changes.
2. Start Next Year's Planning
It’s not too early to begin planning for next year; actually, this is the best time. Starting planning your calendar, promotions, marketing, and social media content. That way, when 2021 hits, you are already ahead of the game.
3. Make Sure the Money is Right
If it doesn’t make you dollars, it doesn’t make cents divas. Now is the time to begin meeting with your accountant to look at your end-of-year taxes, profit, and loss.
4. Show Appreciation
I bet you had some amazing clients and vendors that supported you this year. Create some custom holiday greeting cards to send out. The best time is around November.
Communicating with your team is extremely important. You need to make sure that they are on the same page as you and that everyone knows what is needed to end the quarter as strongly as possible.
Many businesses had to shut down for most of the year, and this would have had a detrimental effect on everything from morale to finances.
So it is integral to the continued success of your business to keep the lines of communication open and let your team know that whether they are in the office or working remotely.
Design a reliable avenue for them to relay any concerns or challenges so that they can be addressed and things can go on business as usual – and that the ending off can be successful.
6. Stay on track
Having a routine and schedule in place makes most businesses meet and exceed their targets for each quarter. It allows for the team to stay focused and see the end goal in sight.
However, this may not have been something that was top of mind during these uncertain times.
But now that many businesses are operating as per normal, it is a good idea to stay as focused and on point as possible to take yourself and your team into the new year without much backlog.
7. Make Space for Mistakes
Mistakes are human nature, and therefore making room for these to happen is important.
As a business owner, you should be prepared for anything and deal with it accordingly. No added stress is needed right now.
8. Keep Your Eye on the Prize
The prize is holidays and the end of what can only be described as a year's rollercoaster.
Whatever you may have had to face in business this year, know this – the end is near, and no one can predict what may happen in the new year, but what is important is to be in the now, focus on your business and what it needs right now – and the rest will flow into place.
