Getting Skin Hydrated After Drinking Alcohol

Alcohol overindulgence will not only leave you nursing a hangover, but it will also damage your skin. Alcohol and skin don’t relate.

Too much alcohol leaves puffiness, blemishes, dehydration, redness, enlarged pores, sagging, discoloration, and dullness. Furthermore, you get flaky skin after drinking alcohol.

How to manage the effect of alcohol on your skin

1. Drink a lot of water to rehydrate

Although a cliché, drinking water helps protect your skin. Drinking alcohol dehydrates the skin since the kidneys use a lot of energy to flush out toxins. As a result, most organs in the body don’t get sufficient hydration.

In the end, you’ll experience premature ageing of the skin. Replenish your skin with a lot of water. For instance, you can drink one glass of water for each cocktail.

2. Incorporate supplements in your diet

Taking supplements with your meals help with cell regeneration. Vitamin A plays a role in cell turnover. Other supplements that will aid with revitalizing your skin include Omega 3, vitamin B3, B2, B6, B1, E and C.

3. Opt for non-alcoholic drinks

Not drinking alcohol shouldn’t stop you from having a good time. Most restaurants and bars offer cocktails referred to as ‘mocktails.’ Moreover, there are varieties of non-alcoholic wines and beers in the market.

4. Exercise regularly

Exercise enhances the flow of blood throughout your body. Furthermore, it helps take care of your inner health and puts your body in shape.

Along with drinking alcohol in moderation, take measures to de-stress, eat a well-balanced diet, get enough sleep, and stay dehydrated. All these will help in maintaining healthy and clear skin.
