Rihanna invests in a black-owned Vegan Cookie Company

Rihanna joins H.E.R. to invest in Black woman-led businesses. The two are the latest entertainers to invest in Partake Foods, an allergy-friendly food brand.

Another person backing the business is Jayz’s Carter’s Venture Capital Fund – Marcy Venture Partners. Last week, the firm announced it had completed Series A round of financing and securing $4.8 million in funding.

Denise Woodard, the founder and C.E.O. of Partake Foods has a business model specializing in healthy vegan cookies. The company additionally creates opportunities for minorities in the food industry.

She is renowned as the first woman of color to raise over one million dollars to start the vegan food company after Carter’s venture partnered with the brand.

In a press statement, Woodward said, “With the new team of strategic partners, Partake continues with its promise of making delectable and safe food. The demand for thoughtfully made snacks, treats, snacks, and cookies is on the rise, and we are delighted to continue providing consumers with plant-based crave-worthy and safe foods.”

In 2019, Partake Foods introduced three cookie flavors. Since then, the vegan company has expanded to provide consumers with seven more different flavors.

Besides, it boasts of its soft-baked cookie line and the newly introduced 5-in-1 baking mixing.

Among new members, investing in the company includes Aditi Dash, a partner at CircleUp Growth Partners.

The data-driven firm focuses entirely on the early-stage consumer. Dash will additionally join the company’s board to help fast track their operations into the New Year.

Other investors include Chuck Muth, Chief Growth Officer of Beyond Meat, John Foraker, Once Upon a farm C.E.O. Bobby Wagner of Seattle Seahawk, and Kevin Johnson of Black Capital.
