Following previous complaints and negative criticism from black employees, Sephora has worked on its inclusion and diversity initiative. The company has put forward its racial bias study by announcing it would increase the number of black-owned products across its retail stores.
Sephora has broken barriers in the beauty industry since it’s the first retailer to make such a move.
As a result of discriminatory treatment, thirty-seven percent of employees in the retailer had contemplated terminating their contract.
According to a previous study, minority and Black shoppers opted for online shopping because of unfair treatment.
At least thirty two percent of BIPOC shoppers claimed they felt judged because of skin color or ethnicity compared to nine percent of white buyers.
