TV Shows that Ended Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic

Although we celebrated some of our beloved TV shows wrap up, I’d say 2020 hasn’t been a banner year most people manifested because apart from quarantine, we had to say goodbye to some of our favorite TV shows.

Although we have much better things, such as our health, to think about, imagine the cancellation of a TV series you had invested most of your time. That’s soul-crushing because of the frustrating cliffhangers after an unprecedented cancellation.

Cameras went dark on most TV shows, with major movies shutting down their production. Although the entertainment has started getting back at a snail speed, the measures put up for covid-19 has proven impossible for some movies to continue.

Here’s a list of TV shows that ended early because of the covid-19 mayhem.

Stumptown

ABC decided to cancel the Cobie Smulders led TV series because of the scheduling and timing needs resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

After ABC announced it, fans remain hopeful, shopping for shows with private investigator Dex and brash Army vet on other streaming sites. Season one left fans in a lot of suspense after Dex’s mother showed up, but now we may not really get to know the entire story.

The society

Netflix ultimately canceled the show after renewing it for a second season. This emanated from the uncertainty surrounding the dates of production.

According to cast members Gideon Adlon, and Kathryn Newton, the script was done before Netflix pulled the plug.

Glow

This one left most people disappointed. After renewing the 80’s TV series for a second season, Netflix decided to cancel the show early this year.

Netflix apologized to its fans stating it was impossible to continue production because it had many members. The covid-19 measures put in place would make it impossible to continue shooting the various scenes.

Teenage Bounty Hunters

Kathleen Jordan’s drama was canceled a few weeks after it premiered. Despite appearing on the platform’s top 10 most sought after TV shows, it was done for Netflix.

I Am Not Okay With This

Most Netflix fans weren’t okay with its decision to cancel the series featuring Sophia Lillis after renewing it for a second season.

The streaming giant apologized for canceling some of its best TV shows but said they couldn’t move on with production because of the covid-19 virus.
