Vacation Ideas Perfect for Social Distancing

Updated: Jun 7, 2020

Many of our plans for vacationing this summer have come to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Closures and social distancing mandates have made it close to impossible to find a vacation destination where you can feel safe. Here are a few ideas to revamp your vacay and keep your social distance:

“Glamping”

This luxurious way of camping has become popular in recent times however, it originated in the 16th century when the Scottish Earl of Atholl entertained King James V and his mother. “Glamping”, or glamorous camping, takes the usual tent in the woods to a whole new level. Glamping experiences come with plush tents, small cabins, or upgraded trailers with resort like services. Not only does glamping provide amenities for a high-end camping experience, it also promotes social distancing and safety for the environment. Get your bff(s) together for what could be an awesome girls’ trip.

Boating

Plan on cruising this summer? Why not rent a boat? You can rent a boat equipped with sleeping quarters and kitchens for a fun family getaway. A houseboat on the lake will provide activities such as swimming, fishing, hiking, or just relaxing. Take a breath of fresh air, safely.

Road Trip

Just get in the car and drive. Rent a fun vehicle to drive that will fit your passengers and hit the open road. Map out a long trip of country sides and sight seeing those remote places that normally would not draw a crowd. Gaze at picturesque mountains or coasts. Let the wind in your hair and be free.

Luxury Hotel Stay

Having to cancel a much-needed romantic vacation is disappointing. No need to cancel completely. Take your honey to a luxury hotel in your area. Cure cabin fever with a couple of nights in a suite with room service, a stocked mini-bar, and maybe even a hot tub. If spa services are available, arrange for an in-room couples massage ensuring your social distance while spending some quality time with your loved one.

There is an end in sight, and we will travel again freely. But in the meantime, think outside of the box. Don’t give up your getaway.
